A parrot is a natural, multi-coloured bird
That has increasingly become a popular pet,
Because of their vibrant and florid look
And amount of verbal mimicking you get,
If you give them your time and attention
Talking to your parrot to help become tame.
For they are mostly an accommodating bird
Always up for some fun and a game.
They can also be encouraged to leave the cage
And fly around the room and return again,
Possibly even landing on your hand to eat
Should you make a determined effort to train,
This beautiful bird originally from the tropics
Who seem to soon domestically settle down,
And become great company for the owners
To ensure that they’ll smile and not frown.
Now there is a comparable sort of person
Whose habits can mirror the parrot’s mould,
For this is certainly and extrovert person
Called posers because they’re loud and bold,
Attracting all attention they possibly can,
To almost say just look and listen to me.
But many people will try extremely hard
To avoid them and attempt to flee.
For nobody likes bragging show-offs
Always boasting about all that they do,
But this is often only their imagination
For very little of it turns out to be true.
Although this never daunts our poser
Strutting about with a petty little act,
Which has folk yawning, or even worse
Turning away bored, and that’s a fact.
So on one hand we have a pretty parrot
A joy to behold in colours so bright,
But on the other a poser driving us insane
With his annoyingly daft attention fight,.
For most people love the natural way
Especially if like a parrot’s florid grace,
Unlike a pretentious poser of the world
That people avoid having to face.
