The butterfly and the buffalo
met one sunny day,
She landed on his nose
as he trudged along the way.
A very unlikely pairing,
their friends at once declared,
as the butterfly balanced delicately,
not appearing to be scared.
To him she was most beautiful,
to her he was so strong,
Their bond was unbreakable,
surely nothing could go wrong.
But a butterfly’s life is short,
her beauty began to wane,
The buffalo knew he’d lose her
and in his heart was pain.
The day she went away
was the saddest in his life,
the butterfly and the buffalo,
a husband and a wife.
Author Bio:
Heather’s experiences as a wife, mother and grandmother, together with her vivid imagination and great sense of humour, played big parts in her becoming a successful author.
