A pit of molasses
devoured my glasses.
Coiled tendrils rose
to seize and dispose
of treasures unsighted
so minds are blighted
with flaming contusions
and twisted confusions.
Faces glowed scarlet
like strawberry tartlet
when things sailed
from pockets unveiled.

I am an award winning author who has received the Emily Dickinson award for my poetry collection Mystical Meanderings published by Bookleaf Publishing and available on Amazon. I also won first prize for my poem Be happy and meowful in a writing competition run by Anderida Writers. In the online poetry forum, Poetry Soup, I came third for my poem House of ghosts.
