City Blues

By Shraddha C. Sankulkar

Moving to the city
To set my future bright,
Commuting through the traffic,
And gazing the street lights!ย

The pace of the city,
Seems faster than light!
The flight of itโ€™s โ€˜ambitionโ€™,
Soars higher than a kite!ย

Both sapiens & canines,
Struggle here for their โ€˜rightโ€™,
The oxygen levels depleting
As trees go โ€˜out of sightโ€™!

But the โ€˜fire in itโ€™s bellyโ€™
Drives the city, day and night,
The โ€˜priceโ€™ one pays for living,
I hope, is a worthful fight!
